Sleep has been difficult these past few days. To be honest, sleep has been difficult since October 2000
when I broke my lower back. I count having three to four hours of sleep a night as a good night.
Now my feet are sore and waking me. Nonetheless, we press on.
Anyway...
This is the sunset from our front porch recently.
For many of my friends, I have attempted to respond to posts
but have had trouble staying online for long because of satellite conditions.
Trust me, it is as frustrating for me as it is for anyone. Thank you for your patience with me.

beautiful sunset!
Lovely sunset! Sorry about the inability to sleep
I know too many people in Xanga that have a very challenging life due to a variety of medical problems.
Loved your photo!
Blessings & Prayers,
frank
Beautiful Sunset...that beauty sustains us! I hope your sleep improves, so sorry ;-(
beautiful pic. I hate you have sleep problems. Mine started way back when I was in my 20's and have gotten worse due to my AS and RA.
Lovely sunset. It's okay if you can't get around much. I understand difficulties with internet connections. Hope you feel better and are able to get some sleep.
What a wonderful sunset!
What a beautiful sunset. Haven't seen one all week with our clouds/rain/snow in the foothills.
Know what you mean about lack of sleep. 5-6 hrs is a good night for me if I'm lucking. Has been this way really bad for the last 15 years. started with anxiety and stress when I was about 19. Don't look for it to ever get better now that I have other health issues to deal with. This getting older isn't that much fun on some days. But we ole fuddy duddies push on, don't we????
I know about insomnia. But when it accompanies pain, I feel sad for you Wanda. That sunset is gorgeous. I have a picture similar to the one you have posted. Our porches must have the same views, five or six hundred miles away??
@Foodhog - Thank you!
@atticusfin - Thank you! It's become something I have almost gotten used to at this point.
@ANVRSADDAY - Thank you! I think for many of us, xanga has become a place where we can visit friends without leaving our homes and no one criticizes us because we have an illness. Mine are numerous as well as frustrating but here it seems okay.
@ABAHM - Thank you, Jenny. I suspect that, having dealt with this for so many years, my body has adapted to a certain lack of sleep and that's okay with me. More time to accomplish things around here.
@stephensmustang - Thank you! I'm sorry you have to deal with these things because I know how illnesses can affect our lives. Please keep hanging in there and, if you ever want to yell or anything, I'll listen.
@armnatmom - Thank you! I used to be concerned when it went out and then the power went out in the midst of the tornadoes last year interfering with my ability to run radar and warnings. Now losing connection is merely a frustration. I guess priorities change based on circumstances.
@andreas_d - Thank you, Andreas! You're gone and I cannot find you and that makes me sad.
@thistlepatch - It seems funny to think back and realize that I've had some of these health issues since birth and one of them even made me sleep for up to 20 hours a day at one point. You're so right about continuing to push on but I think it's better we push on than the alternative.
@ZSA_MD - Zakiah, please don't feel sad for me. Things are improving and I'm learning more about myself in the midst of it all. Thank you! One of these days I need to head up there and check out your view. Ours comes from being near the top of a hill with a higher hill across the road and covered with trees. They posted a "For Sale" sign on it last week and we are concerned it might go to the contractor who is tearing up the upper end of the canyon for a housing development. Oh well, it did get Chuck to consider moving northward more than ever.
