Let me rephrase that...It's COLD!!!!!!!! Not Wintery cold but certainly too chilly for early Fall. We went from one of the hottest summers the area can remember to what is possibly the coldest Autumn it has known in years. What does that mean for me?
I had intended to start sitting out on the front porch to practice the dulcimer or on the back porch to begin painting again. 40 degree temps have a way of telling fingers when it's far too cold to do something like that. Trust me!! Instead, I just may begin crocheting a few hats for what is predicted to be a fairly cold Winter. A friend told me yesterday that I didn't want to move to Michigan because it gets too cold. Cold doesn't bother me so long as I have more than half an hour to prepare for it and heat in the house.
Did I mention that our heat went out sometime over the summer and we just discovered it in the last week or so? More fun! It's okay. The heater we have ordered is sitting on a pick-up dock in California awaiting a truck and they tell us it should be here by Monday. We are NOT amused. Still, the blankets are in the washing machine and almost ready to go into the dryer. When that is done they will be warm enough for me to bundle up in and read a book. Maybe I'll read 'Frankenstein' or something of Longfellow's. Hmm...
